Is a business website tax deductible?
Yes. Your domain, hosting and website builder subscription are deductible every year. A large one-off build may be spread out; ask whoever does your return.
The rule
The running costs of a website are ordinary business expenses: the domain, hosting, a builder like Squarespace, plugins, email on the domain.
Paying someone to design or build the site is deductible too. Small and routine work is deducted when you pay for it. A substantial custom build is treated by many preparers as software and spread over three years, and the IRS has no single rule for it.
A $232 yearly site plan is deductible in full.
