The best charitable donation trackers, by what you need

From 2026, cash gifts to charity come off federal tax even if you don’t itemize, as long as you can show what you gave. Six ways to keep the record, and who each one suits.

We make Reimburse, which is one of the six. What we say about the others comes from their own sites, checked on October 29, 2026 and linked under each.

Pick by what you need

If you want it free, each thank-you email read for you, and every gift priced under 2026’s new rules

Reimburse

Forward the thank-you email or photograph the receipt, and it is read, kept and priced for 2026, when up to $1,000 of cash gifts ($2,000 filing jointly) comes off even without itemizing. Free, beside trackers for your business, HSA and home. It runs in the browser and installs to your home screen; it isn’t in the app stores.

Reimburse

A free gift tracker that reads the charity’s receipt and prices each gift under the 2026 rules.

reimburse.com

Price
Free, with no limit on gifts or years. No card, no trial.
Gifts in
Forward the charity’s thank-you email to your gifts’ own address, or photograph or drop the receipt. AI reads who you gave to, how much, when and whether anything came back for it. Or type it in.
What it is worth
Each gift shows its share of what your year of giving takes off federal tax: with the 2026 deduction for cash without itemizing, or above the 0.5% floor if you itemize. Federal only.
Kinds of gift
Cash, shares, goods, miles driven for a charity, money into a donor-advised fund and grants out of one. You give each item its value; it keeps no price list.
The rules
A gift of $250 or more without the charity’s receipt says so, while there is still time to ask.
Export
Every gift, every year, as a spreadsheet: what came back, what counts and whether the receipt is kept.
Where it runs
In the browser on iPhone, Android and computers; installs to the home screen. Not in the app stores.

The charitable donation tracker, and what else it keeps track of.

Deductible Duck

A web app built to replace ItsDeductible.

deductibleduck.com

Price
Free to track up to $1,000 of donations, its home page says. After that there is one plan, $29.99 a year, with every feature. There are no monthly plans.
Gifts in
Typed into a form for each kind of gift: money, items, mileage and stock. Pick an item from its list to fill in a value, or type your own. Brings in your old ItsDeductible CSV.
Donated goods
Values come from a database of eBay auctions and thrift store valuations. It calls them estimates, not appraisals, and you can enter your own value.
Stock and mileage
Stock takes its ticker, what you paid, the day you bought it and its value on the day given, and it works out the holding period and the gain. Mileage is priced at the IRS charitable rate, with parking and tolls added.
Export
A TXF file for TurboTax Desktop and other tax software, and CSV, PDF and HTML reports for each kind of gift, with Form 8283 worksheets. TurboTax Online can’t import the file, so there you type the figures in.
Where it runs
In the browser, and added to the home screen on iPhone and Android. It is not in the app stores.
Also
A search of the IRS list of charities, and five years of reports.

DeductAble

An iPhone and web app that reads photos of what you gave.

deductable.ai

Price
Free for up to 5 donations, with photo reading and CSV and PDF export. Premium is $19.99 a year for unlimited donations and a TXF file, and it renews on its own.
Gifts in
A photo of the items or the receipt, or up to 20 photos, receipts, PDFs or lists at once. You can also describe what you gave in words. Brings in ItsDeductible exports, and other spreadsheets through its CSV template.
Donated goods
It matches each item to a catalog of more than 1,300 items, each with a Good and an Excellent price taken from resale data and published thrift store guides. It says the AI never sets a dollar figure: the team sets or reviews every price, and you approve each value before it is saved.
Mileage
Charitable mileage, with a summary of miles, trips and the IRS rate to enter in TurboTax by hand.
Export
A year-end PDF and CSV on both plans. Premium adds TXF for TurboTax Desktop and a Form 8283 worksheet once goods pass $500. There is no live link to TurboTax Online.
Where it runs
An iPhone app that works offline, and a web app for iPad and computers. There is no Android app; the web app can be added to an Android home screen.
Also
Looks charities up on the IRS list of tax-exempt organizations, with each one’s EIN and city. Published by RadOne LLC.

What to know first

Which donation trackers are free?

Reimburse, DeductIt and SDO CPA’s spreadsheet are free with no limit; the spreadsheet is typed by hand. ItsDeducted is free up to $750 of donations, DeductAble for 5 donations, and Deductible Duck’s home page says up to $1,000.

What replaced ItsDeductible?

Intuit’s ItsDeductible site no longer opens. Deductible Duck, DeductAble and DeductIt each say they bring in its exports, and Deductible Duck, DeductAble, DeductIt and ItsDeducted all value donated goods the way it did.

Can I deduct gifts to charity without itemizing?

From 2026, yes: up to $1,000 of cash gifts to qualified charities, or $2,000 filing jointly. Goods, shares and gifts to a donor-advised fund don’t count toward it. If you itemize, only what you give above 0.5% of your adjusted gross income counts. What a gift takes off your taxes.

What records does the IRS want?

For any cash gift, a bank or card record or the charity’s receipt showing its name, the date and the amount. For a single gift of $250 or more, a written acknowledgment from the charity that says whether you got anything back, in hand by the day you file.

What about donated clothes and household goods?

They count at fair market value, what they would sell for used, and only in good used condition or better. Over $500 of goods in a year means Form 8283, and over $5,000 for one item or a group of similar items needs a qualified appraisal.

Why is Reimburse on this list?

We make it. Everything said about the other five comes from their own sites on October 29, 2026, linked under each, and each one is picked for the need it serves best.
