Is a coworking membership tax deductible?
Yes. A coworking membership, a hot desk or day passes are rent for the business and deductible in full.
The rule
Paying for a place to work is a business expense, whether it is a monthly membership, a dedicated desk or a day pass. Meeting rooms booked for clients count too.
Coffee and snacks included in the membership come with it. What you buy at the café downstairs is your own.
A $350 monthly hot desk is deductible in full.

- Watch for
- If the coworking space is where you work every day, getting there is a commute. It can also mean your home office is no longer your principal place of business.
