Can you use your HSA to pay Medicare premiums?
Yes, once you are 65. An HSA can pay Medicare premiums, such as Part B and Part D, but not a Medigap supplemental policy.
The rule
Publication 969 lets an HSA pay for Medicare and other health care coverage if you are 65 or older. The one exclusion is a Medicare supplemental policy, such as Medigap.
It is your age that matters. If you are under 65, Medicare premiums for a spouse or dependent who is 65 generally don’t count.

- Watch for
